Togolese extorts Lagos citizens ignoring pedestrian bridges, makes N8,000 daily

A Togolese man allegedly extorting unsuspecting persons in Lagos under pretext that he was a staff of the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) has been arrested.
The 35-year-old suspect, Friday Kojo was arrested around Ikeja railway line with a fake LAGESC identity card.
Kojo allegedly accosts people who ignore the pedestrian bridges to cross the road and threaten with arrest, before demanding huge sums of money to release them.
He allegedly worked with three other accomplices who are currently at large.
Upon his arrest by the Lagos Task Force, he was said to have confessed that he made an average of N8,000 to N10,000 per day from arrested pedestrians who would prefer not to be prosecuted in court.
