Suspected herdsmen storm Plateau community, kill eight

No fewer than eight persons, were on Sunday night killed by suspected herdsmen at Nding community in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

A source in the community who confirmed the incident, disclosed that eight people died when the gunmen invaded a relaxation spot in the community and opened fire.

Matthias Tyopev, Spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said the incident led to the death of some persons while three others were injured.

Tyopev said, “Yes, I am aware of the killings. Some unknown gunmen suspected to be herdsmen opened fire on people at a drinking joint and succeeded in killing the deceased on the spot. Three were injured and taken to the Plateau State Specialist Hospital for treatment.
