At least seventeen (17) men have been arrested in connection with the unrepentant killings of innocent citizens in Southern Kaduna.

The men, according to state governor Nasir El-Rufai, were paraded on Thursday by the state Police PRO.

El-Rufai, through a series of tweets, revealed that the men were arrested for culpable homicide and disturbance of public peace in the troubled region.

He said the suspects include Fulani herdsmen and natives of Southern Kaduna.

They were paraded with several rifles which were allegedly discovered in their possession.

The names of the suspects arrested in Kafanchan & environs were given as: Magaji Shuaib, Abdulkareem Abdul, Goma Adamu, Danlami Yakubu, Danjuma Barde, Idris Bello, Samuel Joshua, Hassan Idris, Adamu Haruna, Suleiman Saleh, Adamu Umar, Abubakar Muhammadu, Muhammadu Jori, Nelson Paul, Bulus Jatau, Danjuma Barde, and Haruna Iliyasu.

Other suspects are currently under investigation and will be arraigned in court, El-Rufai added.

El-Rufai had been under intense criticism from the general public for the seemingly nonchalant approach his government showed in handling the crisis in Southern Kaduna.
