Shamed NFL star, Aaron Hernandez commits suicide in prison cell

Aaron Hernandez, the shamed NFL star, has committed suicide.
Daily Mail reports that Hernandez, who was accused of double murder, was found hanging in his prison cell on Wednesday (today) morning.
Hernandez, 27, had been facing charges on a double murder he allegedly committed in 2012.
He was accused of killing Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in a drive-by shooting in July 2012 in Boston’s South End after an altercation outside a night club.
The New England Patriots star was acquitted of the 2012 double murder charge five days ago (on Friday).
He was already serving life in prison without parole for the shooting to death of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating his fiancee’s sister, in 2013.
Hernandez reportedly had a violent record in prison, including many fights with other inmates, but he has never attempted suicide.
“Mr. Hernandez hanged himself utilizing a bedsheet that he attached to his cell window,” the Massachusetts Department of Corrections said in a statement.
“Mr. Hernandez also attempted to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items.”
