Salesman burgles employer’s shop in Ogun, carts away over 50 monitors

Police in Ogun have arrested a 31-year-old salesman, Michael Daniel, for allegedly conniving with robbers to burgle his employer’s shop.

Police spokesperson in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Michael’s boss, Titilayo Ero, had, in August, reported that she discovered her shop, Dorf Royal Events Centre, was burgled and all 52 computer monitors she had were carted away.

“Detectives swiftly moved into action and invited the salesman who was barely three weeks old in the employment of the centre. When he was thoroughly interrogated, he confessed to being the brain behind the dastardly act,” Oyeyemi said.

He added that Michael confessed he invited one 23-year-old Smith Ajao to join him in the operation. Ajao was later traced to a hotel in Sango Ota, where he was arrested.

Oyeyemi said the suspects led detectives to Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos, where 48 of the computer monitors were recovered.
