Rumour of Buhari’s death sends media aide into “childish” meltdown
Garba Shehu can no longer hold it together.
After assuring the world his boss President Muhammadu Buhari is alive and well, the media aide went into a needless tirade against supporters of Buhari’s predecessor Goodluck Jonathan.
Garba seemed to believe Jonathan’s supporters were fueling an apparently fake news of Buhari’s death online.
Buhari is in London over unspecified health issues. Rumours said his condition was so terrible he could die. News, apparently fake, later said he was dead.
Shehu debunked the news then did something many later called “stupid”.
He made an allusion to Jonathan’s supporters sharing online their “hero of democracy” was invited to, and attended Donald Trump’s inauguration. Jonathan was actually with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Ogun while Trump took oath of office far away in Washington.
