Robbery suspects confess to raping females victims without money
A team of police dispatch from the Kataeregi Division in Katcha Local Government Area of Niger state has apprehended two suspected armed robbers who operate within the Fulani camp along Bida Road in the state.
The two middle-aged men, Umar Mohammed, 40, and Umar Audu, 50, from Gadan Eregi, Fulani Camp were linked to a sexual assault on a 34-year old woman in the same area.
The woman is said to have been attacked after she failed to offer the duo the amount they requested, which was about N400,000. Wielding sticks and cutlasses in their attacks, the two suspects had dragged the woman into a bush nearby and had sex with her.
They confessed to always raping their female victims who have no money.
“If our victim is headstrong or refuses to part with money, we have no option than to have sex with his wife or daughter,” Audu said.
Muhammed Abubakar, the police spokesperson of the state confirmed the incident, stating that the men will soon be arraigned at the court for their crimes.
