Recruitment Scam: EFCC nabs ex-minister Abba Moro
Former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, has been arrested.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested the former minister on Monday over the Nigerian Immigration recruitment scam which led to the death of about 20 job seekers.
Former Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Anaesthesia Nwaobi and a deputy director were also arrested.
According to a source within the EFCC, the trio are billed to be arraigned on a 12-count charge in the Federal High Court Abuja on Tuesday.
About 20 job seekers died following stampedes at test centres for recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in March 2014.
The unfortunate incident was followed by widespread criticisms but no one was punished for it..
