“Pray for Our Troops, Leaders”: Tinubu’s Christmas Plea to Nigerians

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm Christmas greetings to Nigerians, calling for love, unity, and support for one another during the festive season. The message was conveyed in a statement shared by Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media.

In his address, President Tinubu reflected on the true meaning of Christmas, describing it as a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and the enduring triumph of light over darkness. He emphasised the importance of hope, peace, and love, values that resonate universally, regardless of faith.

“Christmas reminds us that even in the darkest times, there is light, and that light brings solace and hope. This is a truth we must carry into our daily lives,” he said.

The President expressed deep sorrow over recent tragedies in Ibadan, Okija, and Abuja, as well as other unfortunate incidents across the country. He sympathised with the families affected by floods, fires, and accidents, offering prayers for their comfort and recovery.

“We must stand together as a people—supporting our neighbours, families, and communities. Kindness does not depend on how much we have, but how willing we are to lift each other up,” Tinubu remarked.

Highlighting the sacrifices of Nigeria’s armed forces, the President urged citizens to pray for the troops who defend the nation’s security and sovereignty. He also called for continued support for national leaders working to address the country’s challenges and improve livelihoods.

The President concluded by wishing Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
