Police arrest 2 teenage suspects over shooting of Nigerian man working odd jobs in U.S

Police authorities in Pittsburgh, United States have arrested two teenagers for their alleged involvement in the shooting of a Nigerian pizza delivery man.

Abdulganiyu Sanusi had been shot twice while delivering pizza to a residence on North St. Clair Street in East Liberty at about 12:30 p.m. on October 13.

The 56-year-old driver for Domino’s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sanusi, reports say, had been living in America for about two years, and had worked several jobs to support his wife and seven children still living in Nigeria.

The suspects, 18-year-old D’Ambrosse Garland and 17-year-old Timothy Walls, will now face homicide charges, CBS reports.

Police say Walls declined to speak, but Garland told officers the gun “just went off,” and only shrugged when asked what he did after the shooting.

Though he (Walls) declined to reveal who he was with at the time of the incident, he was said to have admitted to the police that he felt bad about the shooting.

“No one should grow up without a father. If I could take it back, I would,” he is quoted as saying to officers.

Abdulganiyu has since been buried in the United States.
