Police allegedly break into Dino Melaye’s home in Abuja
Police operatives have reportedly besieged Senator Dino Melaye’s Abuja residence Friday afternoon.
Melaye claimed on Christmas Day that the police was planning to arrest him and inject him to death. Police quickly debunked the claim in a statement.
The operatives, however, arrived the lawmaker’s residence in Toyota Hilux vehicles Friday noon. They have reportedly cordoned off the Sangha street, off Mississippi, Maitama, where Melaye’s house is located.
The Kogi West representative said in a series of tweets that the operatives have forcefully gained entrance into his residence.
“All entrances to my residence in Mississippi have been secured by the police that claim there is no order to arrest me. One truck by centagon school too. Media and Nigerians take note. We have pictures of those involved,” he wrote.
He further said in his update that the operatives in mufti were up to 20 and he was recording their activities.
“Cameras recording. They are trying to plant guns in the cars outside. We are watching,” he had written, before going on to add: “They have forcefully entered my compound”.

Melaye’s trouble with the police began after he was accused of sponsoring political thugs in Kogi State. He was later released on bail after making court appearances.
