“It’s a ploy to pull Eletu Odibo down” – Associate of popular Lagos Prince reacts to notorious assassin’s claim

Following accusations by serial killer Ade Lawyer that he has killed someone for Prince Kazeem Eletu Odibo, sources in the latter’s camp have come out to say the accusations are untrue.

It would be recalled that a few days ago, operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, paraded Ade Lawyer otherwise known as Adeola Williams.

Ade Lawyer who’s described as the most notorious assassin on the police wanted list for over five years now, was apprehended alongside former National Union Road of Transport Workers, NURTW Chairman, Lagos State chapter,  Alhaji Rafiu Akanni Olohunwa.

Their arrest, according to the police, followed the murder of one Ganiyu Ayinla popularly known as Pinero, the personal assistant to the NURTW chairman in Idumota , Azeez Lawal, known also as ‘Kunle Poly’.

Late Lawal was killed on January 23, during an attack on Kunle Poly in Idumota area of Lagos Island.

Ade Lawyer, however, confessed that Olohunwa contracted him to assassinate Kunle Poly.

Among the people he confessed that had contracted him to kill someone, Ade Lawyer mentioned Prince Kazeem, who’s the last son of late popular traditional Lagos Chief, Gbadamosi Bamidele Eletu Odibo.

In reaction to Ade Lawyer’s claim, Nuhu Zakari, a close associate of the Prince, told Newsroom Nigeria that there is nothing of such.

According to Zakari who’s otherwise known as Nuzak, people are only trying to pull the prince down.

The Edo State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has refuted allegations by its national secretariat implicating the Edo State Government in the raid of the labour house in the state. Acting State Chairman, Bernard Egwekhide, and Acting State Secretary, Kingsley Ireotoi, issued this rebuttal in a statement on Monday. The statement emphasized that claims of police officers storming the labour house were entirely baseless. “This is to deny the claim by the NLC national secretariat that the Edo State Government forcefully broke into and ransacked the Edo State Labour House. “Instead, the police officers seen in a video shared by the former chairman, Comrade Odion Olaye, were stationed at the premises upon the request of the congress leadership to safeguard the building and its properties. “There is a long-standing cordial relationship between the Edo State Government and the various labour unions, including the NLC. Recently, there was a meeting between the state government and labour representatives aimed at addressing irregularities in the minimum wage (administrative wage) implemented by the previous administration. “Furthermore, the Edo State Government has never engaged in any acts of vandalism or intimidation against labour unions or their properties. We believe such allegations are intended to tarnish the image of the state government and sow unnecessary discord between the government and the labour unions," the statement read. The state council went on to challenge the national secretariat to prove its allegations if otherwise.

“I have known Prince for a very long time now, and I can say confidently the kind of person he is. It is normal for people to have something against you. You can’t even do without that in life. So the fact that someone who’s a notorious killer said he has killed someone for Prince before doesn’t even shake him,” Nuzak said.

“Prince is someone that has the love of the people at heart, and he loves everyone equally,” he added.

He further told Newsroom Nigeria that the Prince has worked overtime to be relevant in the society and some people are jealous of his achievement.

Nuzak advised Nigerians to distance themselves from irrelevant information, and stay true to the course of humanity.
