The marriage rites between the Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi, and his bride, Olori Moronke Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi, have been finalised.
The Director, Media and Public Affairs of the palace, Moses Olafare, confirmed in a statement that the marriage rites were done privately in Akure, Ondo State, before the new Olori was later received at the Ooni’s palace.
“Her Majesty, Olori Moronke Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi is the new Yeyeluwa Oodua,” the statement read.
“Necessary rites fully performed.”
The monarch had said on Thursday that he waited “patiently upon the Almighty” to provide him with his new wife.
“He eventually did it in the midst of many trials,” he said.
“Shilekunola, Moronke, Naomi; the greatest Arsenal you can apply on this highly revered throne with many rules and regulations in the midst of undiluted tradition, heritage and culture is the Fear of God In You,” he added.
