The Lagos State government has said its Bus Reform Project is almost ready to kick off as over 800 new buses will begin operations in various parts of the state in March.
Governor Ambode has for long expressed his desire to reform the public transport system in Lagos.
At least 5,000 high and medium capacity buses had been proposed to subsequently replace raggedy buses on the roads.
Terminals and depots have been constructed in Ikeja, Oshodi, Yaba and Anthony areas of the state.
Residents have expressed hope that the commencement of the buses’ operation would reduce the terrible traffic situation being experienced daily.
