Passengers looking to benefit from free train ride to Osun outstrip available coaches in Lagos
No fewer than 2,500 holiday makers have benefited from the free train ride provided by the Osun State Government to convey people from Lagos and Ogun to Osun for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The free train ride was a collaboration between the Rauf Aregbesola-led government and the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to convey Osun indigenes in Lagos to Osogbo and other towns during the festive period.
But Osun-bound passengers, who had gathered at Iddo Terminal in Lagos for the free train ride, were so many that some got stranded.
The huge number of passengers who turned out for the ride outstripped the available coaches.
