The good people of Ekiti state have been thrown into mourning after the painful loss of one of their own.

On Tuesday, the Chief Registrar of the Ekiti State Judiciary, Olanike Adegoke confirmed the death of the Chief Judge, Oyewole Adeyeye.

Detailed information as to the cause of his death is currently sketchy as some alleged that he died after a brief illness, while others allege he died after succumbing to the injuries he sustained last year after a section of the state high court complex collapsed on him while in the office.

Justice Adeyeye, born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East Local Government Area, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986.

He was appointed Chief Judge of Ekiti State by former Governor, Kayode Fayemi on 11 October 2021, a role in which he served with distinction until his untimely exit.

Chief Registrar, Adegoke in a statement made available through the Judiciary’s Public Relations Officer, Michael Oba paid tribute to the deceased.
