Osun: Man openly disowns wife, after daughter gets married without his consent
A man, Olaniran Anthony Igbaroola, has distanced himself from his wife (former) while claiming he was not the biological father of her daughter in what appears as a case of parental dispute.
Igbaroola made the declaration in an unusual way – on a full page of a national newspaper.
While the Ilesha, Osun State native’s reason to denounce relationship with the two women remains unknown, the details of the letter indicated that a wedding ceremony was organized without his blessings or approval.
He warned in the letter that all monies or dowry received in his name were not authorised.
Igabroola’s letter reads:
This is to inform the general public that I, Olaniran Anthony Igbaroola that I am not the biological father of Enitan Olanike Keji, a claim supported by PARENT DISPUTE FORENSIC SCIENCE REPORT (Issued section 41 of the Evidence Act) dated 13th September 1994 which biological test indicates that “Anthony Igbaroola cannot be a father of baby Enitan” also that am not the Husband of one Boladale Arike, Mother of the above named Enitan Olanike Keji.
That the purported traditional marriage conducted by Oladele Igbaroola and Mrs Cecilia Bolupe Afolabi (Nee Igbaroola) was not authorised by Bisi Igbararoola family of Ilesha of Osun.
That all monies or/any dowry or/and gifts collected either on my behalf or of Bisi Igbaroola family were obtained fraudulently.
Findings reveal Igbaroola could have spent as much as of N400,000 to secure the full page with which he made the announcement.
