Ondo: Housemaid, 14, lands in police nest for allegedly adding rat poison to boss’ food
A 14-year-old housemaid, Mary Akinnifesi, has landed in police nest for allegedly poisoning her boss’ food.
Mary allegedly added rat poison to her boss, Alhaji Nasiru Akinlosotu’s beans at their Ondo residence on Friday.
Akinlosotu, 63, reportedly said he suspected something was amiss while eating the food, as it had a strange taste and an offensive odour.
He reportedly said he was forced to vomit the portion he had consumed.
“It was in the course of interrogation by our neighbour that the maid confessed that she put rat poison into my own share of the food,” he is quoted as saying.
“She also confessed that she decided to add poison to my food because I beat her anytime she committed an offence in the house.”
Mary was reportedly handed over to the Yaba Police Division in Ondo town and investigation is ongoing.
