Twenty-nine suspected drug dealers have been arrested by operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Borno state.
Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Commandant of the NSCDC, told newsmen in Maiduguri on Friday that the suspects were arrested on Thursday with the help of some military men, during a joint patrol that was initiated by security agencies to reduce the crime rate within Borno state.
The commandant also said that the suspects were arrested in different locations, and were found with different “psychotropic substances.”
He added that suspects will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for prosecution.
