Nnamdi Kanu nowhere to be found on the eve of his trial

Why We Are Excited About Nnamdi Kanu's Final Judgement Tomorrow - By Ifeanyi Ejiofor, IPOB's Lead Counsel

Only a day to his October 17 court appearance on charges of treason, the whereabouts of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu is still unknown

Since the army raid on his Abia home on September 14, the otherwise media savvy man has been unseen. There are unfounded rumours that he may have been killed in the raid while some people believe that he may have escaped to the UK.

As his court date nears, Newroom contemplates where he could be.

Hiding in Abia state:

The most likely option is that Kanu might be hiding in Abia State, leading the question to be asked of the state governor Okezie Ikpeazu who immediately declared that he does not know. In a press conference in Abuja, Governor Ikpeazu further stated that it is unfair for anyone to ask him of Kanu’s whereabouts.

Held hostage by the Millitary:

Recall that after the September 14th ‘invasion’ of the Umuahia home of Kanu by military officers, his members alleged that he had gone missing. They accused the military of taking him into hostage, an allegation the military has denied.

Hiding in UK:

Some people believed Nnamdi Kanu might likely be in the UK under the guise of the UK government, saying  Nnamdi Kanu is a British citizen and could probably have been granted asylum without nobody knowing.

Dead:

Some Nigerians are of the opinion that Nnamdi Kanu may likely have been killed during the invasion of his house by the military.
