Nigerians attack Buhari for RESPONDING QUICKLY to University of Maiduguri terror attack
Two child suicide bombers killed themselves, a professor and one other person at the University of Maiduguri on Monday morning.
President Muhammadu Buhari was quick to condemn the attack. He called Boko Haram terrorists “godless people who have no knowledge of Islam”.
Instead of condoling with the president and those who lost loved ones, some Nigerians took to criticise how the president “reacts late” whenever attacks happen in other parts of the country. They also said the president, who is a Muslim, doesn’t respond this quick whenever Christians are attacked.
Some of the commenters described the president in unflattering terms.
Presidential media aide Femi Adesina had said Buhari, following the principle of “true federalism” whereby each state handles its affairs on its own, needed not respond to the killing of a reported 808 people in Sountern Kaduna.
Some wondered how a Boko Haram the government claimed it had defeated could be potent enough to attack a university.
Another wondered how exactly Buhari is using Nigerian laws to “punish” Boko Haram.
Others took to the Facebook page to praise the president’s effort in fighting terrorism, and to condole with the families of those killed in the Maiduguri attack.
