Nigerian youth and the “FFF group”
Virtually every Nigerian youth has been initiated into the unsanctified FFF group.
While I find it difficult to know my siblings menstrual period, I unconditionally know ‘her’ sister’s own “too”. I hope you read that well; I know her sister’s own too! – that’s after knowing her’s too well. You know I love her.
While I find it difficult to have a “smile” at my family’s “family jokes”, I won’t hesitate to send iterated smileys to ‘his(er)’ dry jokes. Well, s(he) is my intimate buddy.
I do not even know what her undies sizes are, how then do I justify many years we lived together? You will be inferring wrongly about ‘her’ I haven’t lived with. I know her own favourite colours and type — I have sent her different sets for her birthdays.
I do not know his performance in school but I know what mark ‘her’ brother needs to get admission in Unilag. Well I also know each of ‘his’ semester C(GPA) during our stay in school. Do not forget he is an undisputed acquaintance.
More than two hours at home I have said nothing to them other than “Ekule”. But I have sent at least ten of ‘them’ goodnight after several discussions and wonderful moments.
I am loosing them, gaining nothing but I do not know it.
My phone! Oh dear phone! You are hurting me. Making me far from family. They say you make close people far and far people close. What a technological demerit!
They are my family. They are my interminable friends. They will spend more time still being around me than anybody on this earth…
I am FFF, you are probably FFF. We are Far From Family.
