Nigerian woman gives birth to triplets after 6 years of trying to conceive
It was a triple-fold blessing for Temitope Alao who spent the first six years of her marriage trying to conceive.
She gave birth, Thursday morning, to three babies at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn about eight months into her pregnancy.
The 34-year-old mother had travelled from Nigeria to the United States for the delivery courtesy of her mother-in-law, Afolake Alao, who works at the hospital.
“I knew she would get good care here,” she told reporters at the hospital on Friday.
But the father is yet to see his new children because he is still in Nigeria.
“We are trying to get him here to see the babies,” his wife said.
The family will return to Nigeria as soon as the babies are old enough to travel..
