Nigerian church refuse helping bleeding crash victims because Bible study was on

Uche Akolisa is a Nigerian journalist. She’s presently in her home state of Anambra where she joined the rest of her family to bury her late father.
She recounted witnessing the following on Sunday morning:
Today, the Bible story of the Good Samaritan played before my eyes and for the second time, the “priest” missed a golden opportunity to preach the gospel by his action.
This morning while seeing off some great friends who came to mourn with us during my late dad’s burial ceremony, an accident involving two bike riders happened before my eyes.
The first few vehicles that arrived the scene of the accident refused to help get the bleeding victims (three of them) to hospital.
I noticed a church nearby, “Soul Winners Deliverance Chapel” (or something close to that), along Eddybros Road, Uruagu Nnewi, and ran there to solicit for help and a brother carrying an intimidating Bible told me, sorry, I could see that their Bible study is going on and so, the church could not make available their missionary bus to rush the victims to hospital.
It took the intervention of a passerby who volunteered to run home and get his vehicle and we took them to a nearby hospital. To the glory of God, all are in stable condition as I pen this.
NewsroomNG chatted Uche up. Here’s what she told us:
Two young men on bike each carrying passengers had a head on collision. Though three were injured one in particular hit his head on the coal tar and was bleeding profusely.
When other cars would not stop to help, I ran to the church because I saw cars and a mission bus parked there hoping that help will come fast from them but was shocked beyond words at the response of that brother.
I became hysterical, then one guy volunteered to go get his bus. The volunteer who helped us was not a member of the church.
I didn’t take their pictures because I was more interested in seeing they got help fast. I was happy the hospital we took them to responded without first asking for deposit. I was shocked at the height of the insensitivity of so-called Christians.
