Niger: Governor sacks food masters in boarding schools for preparing unpalatable meals
March 3, 2017

Niger state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has sacked food masters in all public boarding schools in the state for preparing unpalatable meals for students.
Gov. Bello reportedly gave the directive during an assessment tour of Government Girls Secondary School, Tungan Magajiya.
He lambasted the food masters for their ineptitude in catering for the students, reports say.
“Students are not animals, even animals should not feed like this, I will not tolerate such inhumane treatment to students especially,” he said.
Several boarding schools across Nigeria are plagued with unhygienic and badly prepared meals, but students rarely complain as they are made to believe they “have no choice”.
