New DSS DG: Ogun Govt Hails Appointment
The government of Ogun state has sent congratulatory messages to the new Director-General of the Directorate of State Services (DSS), Mr. Adeola Ajayi, over his recent appointment.
Ajayi was appointed as DG of the Secret Police by President Bola Tinubu, after the ouster of the former Boss on Monday.
The Ogun state government has now hailed the decision via a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade.
According to them, the new DG, an indigene of Ogun state, has a track record of top performance in the security department and has, therefore, earned his dues.
“On behalf of the government and the good people of Ogun State, we heartily congratulate one of our illustrious sons in Ogun State and a thorough professional by all standards, Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, on his appointment as the new Director General of the State Security Service (DSS) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Obviously, the new DG of DSS has proven his mettle as a vibrant and seasoned professional in the field of intelligence gathering, with the capability to solidify Nigeria’s security architecture for better performance.
“To this end, we, therefore, commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his penchant for competence and requisite capacity for quality delivery,” the statement read.
A tour around social media has showed Nigerians’ reactions to the sack of the old DSS DG, Bichi, and the appointment of Ajayi.

Some point to the fact that the sack of the old Boss being celebrated is a sign that he was doing something good that impeded the freeway of corrupt actors, hence his ouster.
Others accuse the old DSS Boss of nepotism, pointing to the large recruitment of his fellow Northerners during his tenure.
There are some who still point to the alleged highhandedness of Bichi’s son while his father was in power.
While mixed reactions trail these recent developments, many concerned Nigerians hope that the new DG will make corrections and set the Service on a path to greatness.
