NAF helicopter crashes during fight with Boko Haram in Borno
One of the helicopters used by the Nigerian Air Force to fight Boko Haram terrorists was lost in a battle on Wednesday, authorities confirm.
The helicopter, NAF says, crashed just as it was providing support to troops of 145 Battalion who engaged the insurgents in Damasak, Borno State.
Air Force spokesperson, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola said details of the crash were still sketchy.
“The incident occurred about 7:45pm today, 2 January 2019. Details of the cause of the crash are still scanty. As soon as the details of the crash are known, they will be made available to the public,” he said.
