Mum arrested after apartment fire kills 2-year-old daughter
The 2-year-old girl was home alone when a raging fire consumed parts of the apartment building where she lived with her mother in Brooklyn, Tuesday morning.
Her mother, aged 20, has been arrested and now faces charges of reckless endangerment and child endangerment, police say.
It is reported that Aquino went to work, as an exotic dancer, leaving her daughter, Kaleenah Muldrow, by herself at home.
The little girl’s remains were found under a scorched bed after firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire.
Aquino returned to the gutted building at around 9:45 a.m, over two hours after firefighters arrived at the scened.
She is being held without bail while investigation into the fire continues..
