Morgan Freeman accused of sexual misconduct, accuser says he acted like a “creepy uncle”

Just after one of America’s most popular comedians, Bill Cosby was found guilty of sexual misconduct, another of the country’s big screen legends, Morgan Freeman, may be facing a long battle in court.

Freeman, according to CNN, has been accused of inappropriate behavior and harassment by eight women.

One of the women claimed that the 80-year-old Hollywood star repeatedly tried to lift up her skirt while they worked together on a movie in 2015.

The woman told the publication that Freeman’s co-star in the “Going In Style” movie, Alan Arkin, cautioned him to stop and “Morgan got freaked out and didn’t know what to say.”

The accuser said Freeman continued with unwanted touching and comments about her figure and clothing on a near-daily basis.

Another accuser who worked with Freeman in 2012 on a movie titled “Now You See Me” said he sexually harassed her and her female assistant on numerous occasions, and his actions prompted them to be conservative in their dressing.

Freeman’s actions, according to some of his accusers, were not behind the scenes nor unknown to many other workers.

A former staff at Freeman’s ‘Revelations Entertainment’ film production company said he always acted like a “creepy uncle” anytime he was at the office.

CNN said it spoke to no lesser than 16 people who affirmed that Freeman exhibited sexual misconduct.

“He did comment on our bodies… We knew that if he was coming by … not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted,” the woman who worked with him on “Now You See Me” said.

Another woman who worked on a recent movie of Freeman’s said the actor, at the film’s wrap party, “was looking at my breasts, and I told him, ‘My eyes are up here.’ Then we went to take a group photo and he pressed himself up against me. It was inappropriate.”

Many other former co-workers (on and off set) said Freeman was notorious for his unbearable sexual harassment.

Freeman has, however issued an apology following CNN‘s report. He said he apologised for making women feel “uneasy” around him.

“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy,” Freeman said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

“I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected – that was never my intent.”

It is still unclear if Freeman’s accusers will press charges.
