Doctors without Borders, a medical outreach organization stationed in the Bentiu area of South Sudan has revealed that more than 125 girls seeking emergency food have been raped by unknown men in the nothern city of the country within the past 10 days.

The medical charity agency went on to say that it had treated over 104 victims of sexual abuse and gender violence in the past 10 months prior to this gruesome incident.

Ruth Okello, an MSF midwife in South Sudan disclosed that a large number of girls and women have been visiting the MSF clinic in Bentiu to get treatment for sexual violations they experienced in the past week.

The women and girls were attacked as they tried to reach an emergency food distribution camp set up by international aid agencies.

“Some are girls under 10 years old and others are women older than 65. Even pregnant women have not been spared from these brutal attacks,” Ms Okello said.
