Mexican Mayor Shot Dead Along With 3 Others
Mayor of Tancanhuitz municipality in Mexico’s central San Luis Potosi state, Jesus Eduardo Franco, was shot dead on Sunday.
Rita Rodriguez, President of Morena party of which Franco is a member, confirmed the incident on X while sending her condolences.
The state prosecutor’s office say that three other person were found in a vehicle along with the Mayor.
”We deeply regret the death of our colleague Eduardo Franco, municipal president of Tancanhuitz.
“We ask authorities to reach the ultimate consequences and find those responsible,” Rodriguez stated via her X handle.
Authorities have linked the incident to organised crime-related violence.

They say local officials are now the target of the crime organizations in Mexico.
Mayor in southern Guerrero state, Alejandro Arcos, was, last month, killed, with his head chopped off and dumped atop a pickup truck.
This assassination came only a week after his assumption of office.
