“May the fortune of Nigeria never sink like that of the PDP” – Obasanjo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is not done with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“May the fortune of Nigeria never sink like that of the PDP,” Obasanjo who was a strong force within the party prayed on Friday.
…and the audience said amen.
“When all was going well, when I brought Ahmadu Ali as the national chairman of the party, we controlled 30 States out of the 36 states but when Ahmadu and I left, the fortune of the PDP sunk,” Obasanjo said.
“Ali is a man of truth, hardworking but cantankerous.’’
In the run up to the 2015 presidential elections, Obasanjo apparently disowned the party and pitched his tenth with opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
Obasanjo’s action, observers say, was a major reason APC candidate Muhammadu Buhari won the election.
Since Buhari became president, the PDP — seemingly unable to regroup — has been jumping from one crisis into another.
