Maryam Sanda, alleged killer of former PDP chairman’s son, granted bail
Maryam Sanda, the alleged killer of her husband, Bilyamin Bello, has been granted bail.
Bello was the son of former PDP chairman, Haliru Bello.
Maryam, who had earlier been denied bail on at least two occasions, was granted bail based on medical reports which indicate she is pregnant and ill.
Justice Halilu, ordered, as part of the bail conditions, that she should provide two sureties who must deposit their titles of ownership of landed properties in Abuja.
He also ordered that Maryam’s father should enter into an undertaking to always provide her in court throughout her trial.
Maryam, a nursing mother, is being prosecuted alongside her mother, Maimuna Aliyu; brother, Aliyu Sanda; and their house help, Sadiya Aminu.
Her trials began when she allegedly stabbed her husband to death over infidelity claims.
Maryam had seen a text message on his phone and allegedly stabbed Bello in the neck and chest while he slept in the bedroom at their home in Maitama, Abuja.
After stabbing him, she was said to have taken him to a hospital where he gave up the ghost.
The couple had a daughter together.
Maryam is the daughter of embattled former Aso Savings Bank boss, Hajia Maimuna Aliyu.
