Man disguises as deaf and dumb woman, steals baby
His cover blew when the weavon he wore fell off at a bus terminal. Fortunately traders who were searching for the baby were around.
The baby had been stolen from the Oba Market in Edo state.
The little boy was strapped on the suspect’s back when he was caught.
The suspected lured little Godwin with biscuits while his mother, Mrs. Edith Elawure, who deals on used clothes was attending to customers.
The suspect is being held at the Oba Market (central) Police division.
Edo police spokesman, DSP Abiodun Osifo, confirmed that the suspect pretended to be deaf and dumb. He said investigation was ongoing..
