A tornado which swept through South Africa’s Tembisa township, Tuesday, took off the roof of a shopping centre, leaving several people injured.
Tembisa is just east of Johannesburg.
Upon arrival, “paramedics and rescue workers found debris scattered across the parking lot of the mall as well as twisted metal lying at the entrance of the mall. Several vehicles were also damaged,” ER24 spokesperson, Werner Vermaak said.
He said they found only three people with minor injuries.
The weather has been bad following cold and rainy spells in the last couple of days.
