Landlady pours hot porridge on tenant’s one-year-old baby over N1,900 unpaid rent
A landlady allegedly bathed her tenant’s one-year-old baby with hot porridge over K50 (N1900) unpaid rent in Zambia.
The tenant, identified as Mr. George Simwinga, was reportedly carrying his baby when the landlady started to throw out his belongings over the unpaid rent.
Simwinga, who pays K25 (N950) per month, owed the landlady, a primary school teacher identified as Bana Paul, two months rent.
In the ensuing scuffle, Paul allegedly grabbed a hot pot which was burning on the brazier and emptied the content on the baby who was being held by the father.
The little child was left with severe burns on the face.
Simwinga expressed sadness over the incident and called for justice.
