Lagos State demolishes juice lounge in Ikoyi

How Nuli Juice looked before it was demolished

When the Lagos State announced on August 30, that it had inaugurated a special committee for the clean-up of Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Lekki, we all probably thought they were joking.

After all, government bodies and committees are very ineffective and familiar bedfellows. Not even when the government issued a 14-day grace period to remove such illegal structures in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tunji Bello

But today, it seems the committee has claimed its first victim not more than two days after the committee was inaugurated.

Cold Pressed Juice Company, Nuli Juice located in Ikoyi was demolished by the Lagos govt this morning. Reports say the landlord didn’t pay for a N40 million permit and failed to notify the tenants.

There is no confirmation as to who the owner of the property is but the juice lounge itself is owned by Ada Osakwe and only opened its Ikoyi outlet a few months ago,
