Lagos installs 13000 CCTVs, 6000 street lights, demolishes 3 Lekki-Epe highway roundabouts
The Lagos State Government has announced plans to activate multi-faceted projects designed to improve the standard of living in the state.
One of them is the construction of a flyover bridge at the popular Pen Cinema junction.
The flyover is the third which the Akinwunmi Ambode led administration will be constructing after those of Abule-Egba and Ajah roundabouts.
The government had also constructed a pedestrian bridge at the ever busy Berger Bus Stop along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to facilitate easy human and vehicular movement.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, made the announcement on Wednesday.
As part of the projects, the government will install 13,000 Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras, additional 6,000 street lights and security sensors for surveillance and crime prevention across the State from October, 2016.
The government will also remove three roundabouts on Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The 4th Roundabout (Elegushi); 5th Roundabout (Jakande) and the 8th Roundabout (VGC) to reduce the hectic traffic commuters face along the highway..
