December 18, 2018
A 20-year-old labourer will spend no lesser than seven months in jail for stealing two drums, a digger and a shovel, belonging to his neighbours.
The Sokoto Chief Magistrates’ Court pronounced judgment Anas Muhammad on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to one count of stealing.
Police prosecutor Insp Awaisu Mohammed told the court that he stole the items from his neighbours, Sanusi Bello and Abdulmalik Sani.
Bello and Sani had reported the case to the police at Ungwan Rogo Police Station, Sokoto, on November 20.
Muhammad will serve the sentence as he was not given an option of fine by the Chief Magistrate Abubakar Adamu.
