Kogi: Six persons killed, 12 others injured in road crash
No fewer than six persons were killed at the scene of an accident along the Anyigba-Ajaokuta road on Saturday.
A Toyota bus and a Golf car ran into each other leading to the death of the said persons while leaving a dozen others with injuries.
The accident occurred about an hour after midday on Saturday, an Assistant Corps Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mrs. Amobi Modupe Stanley confirmed.
She said the FRSC’s men arrived the scene of the accident at about 1:59 p.m for rescue operations, adding that six of the passengers were confirmed dead on the spot while 12 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Attributing the accident to dangerous overtaking, Stanley said the dead passengers had been deposited at Rima Hospital, Anyigba.
The injured are receiving treatments at the same hospital.
She advised drivers to be patient while driving on the highway, especially this festive season..
