Kogi: Female lecturer’s decomposing body found a month after kidnap

A month after a female lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences at the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Christie Agbulu was kidnapped, her decomposing remains has been found.

Reports say the corpse of Christie, who was kidnapped in Lokoja on November 26, was found inside a bush in Lokoja, Kogi state.

Christie was reportedly kidnapped after she left Makurdi to visit a friend in Lokoja.

Her abductors had demanded a N150,000 ransom, out of which N100,000 was reportedly transferred to her bank account. The kidnappers reportedly used Agbulu’s ATM card to withdraw the sum.

Her decomposing body was found by security operatives yesterday, reports say.

Acting chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi chapter, Dr Bemgba Anjembe confirmed the development, adding that the corpse had been handed over to the family for burial.
