Kogi Councillor, Eight Others Abducted by Gunmen

Twin Attacks in Northern Nigeria Leave 22 Dead as Violence Surges

A councillor, along with eight other persons have been kidnapped by armed men at the Odo-Ape community in the Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Neusroom understand that the incident occured on Wednesday morning.

Reports indicated that the newly elected councillor representing the Odo-Ape Ward in the Kabba-Bunu Legislative Council, Hon. Alaba Ope, as well as the other victims were taken forcefully from their various homes.

The Councillor is said to be the only indigene of the community, with the others being residents.

Residents say they now live in fear of further attacks.

The recent attack is a sequel to a previous kidnap involving three persons which happened just a week ago.
