Kenya bans preachers from asking for “offering” on radio

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has released a new broadcast code.
Amongst other things, the new code bans preachers from soliciting for money from the audience in exchange for blessings.
They promise bigger blessings for bigger offerings, at times drawing condemnation from traditional churches who describe them as false teachers, BBC reports.
Such ‘seed’ preachers, who encourage viewers to give ‘far and beyond’ their abilities to attract blessings, Kenya’s Standard Media.
They have also been banned from recruiting people to their faiths or asking them to get ‘saved’ as is customary at the end of their broadcasts.
The new code also places a ban on ‘sex talk’ during the daytime on radio..
