Kaduna: man lands in police custody for impregnating mentally challenged woman

50-year-old Safiyanu Kamala has landed in police custody, after allegedly having a sexual intercourse with a mentally-ill woman, who had become pregnant.

Confirming the report, Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Isah Gambo said Kamala was a native of Juno village, in the Kankara Local Government Area of the state.

“Kamala is already in police net over the issue and he has confessed to being responsible for the pregnancy,” he said.

It was gathered that Kamala allegedly lured the woman to his farm several times, where he had sex with her.

The PPRO said, “The act eventually led to the 28 weeks pregnancy the victim is carrying.

“The woman presently lives with members of her family.”
