Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia’s Daughter Found Dead; Police Arrest Three Domestic Staff

On Wednesday, July 31, the body of Chukwu, the daughter of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, was found dead under suspicious circumstances outside their Parkview, Lagos home.

The deceased, a medical professional, was discovered lifeless at the gate of their residence, sparking an investigation into her untimely death.

According to Vanguard, newly employed domestic staff, who had been with the family for less than a month, are suspected of staging the scene to make it appear as though Chukwu was outside the house when the incident occurred. However, evidence suggests an attempt to clean up blood inside the house and within the compound, pointing to a different narrative.

What Authorities Are Saying Over The Death of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia’s Daughter

Quoting Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Vanguard reported that the three domestic staff have been arrested in connection with Chukwu’s death.

“Three domestic staff have been arrested and handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department, which has since taken over the investigation,” Hundeyin said.

Hundeyin added that the arrest of the three suspects was initiated in line with a directive from the Commissioner of Police to thoroughly investigate the death.

Chukwu’s body was discovered at about 6:45 am at the entrance of her parents’ house on Bembe Street in Parkview Estate, Lagos.

Chukwu’s father, Soboma Ajumogobia, is the younger brother of Odein Ajumogobia, a former Minister of State for Petroleum and later a former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
