Ilorin: Former Minister of State for Education and Unilorin pro-chancellor dies at 79

Alhaji Saka Sa’adu, a former Minister of State for Education from Ilorin, has reportedly passed on Monday.

Sa’adu, according to Punch, died at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Kwara State.

He was aged 79.

Sa’adu’s son, Alhaji Abdulkadir Sa’adu, confirmed that his father died of natural cause and would be buried Monday afternoon according to Islamic rites.

“My father died this morning. He died of natural cause. It was his time, he was aged 79. He is from Okekere, Ilorin,” he said.

“He will be buried today at 4pm at the back of Kwara State Government House, Ilorin, Kwara State.”

Alhaji Saka Sa’adu was, in 2012, presented a platinum award of excellence by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), in recognition of his administrative acumen in discharging his duty as pro-chancellor of University of Ilorin.
