I am not aware of any appointment of new Commissioner of Police – Owoseni
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has come out to squash reports that a new CP has been appointed in the state.
Owoseni told newsmen at the State Police Command in Ikeja that he was yet to get any new directive to that effect.
This comes after reports online claimed that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, had appointed Imohimi Edgar as the new Lagos CP.
Edgar before the reported appointment occupied the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge-of Operations in Lagos.
However, Owoseni on Wednesday told newsmen in Ikeja, “When we get the information, we will let you know.”
This is despite reports that the Inspector General of Police had, through a police wireless message with number DTO: 29817/18/2017, ordered Owoseni out of Lagos State.
Meanwhile, Edgar is said to have been instrumental in ending the activities of the dreaded Badoo cult group carrying out kidnappings in Ikorodu.
