“I love you”, ‘incompetent’ sports minister tells Vanguard after charring editiorial
Nigeria’s Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, thinks the Vangaurd newspaper is ingenious and creative for asking President Muhammadu Buhari to probe him for embarrassing Nigeria serially on the international scene.
The newspaper had, in an editorial Wednesday morning, described the minister has incompetent while highlighting what it described as his many failings.
“We join millions of disappointed Nigerians to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to probe Dalung for causing Nigeria serial international embarrassments and his crass incompetence,” it wrote in the editorial.
Dalung’s response was both swift and brisk.
He simply shared the link to the editorial on his Facebook page with the following tag: “I love Vanguard newspapers for their ingenuity and creativity”.
The sports minister has come under severe criticisms for several logistic issues that have plagued Team Nigeria since the days preceding the Olympics. Many Nigerians have also called for the minister’s head.
