How three NYSC members were gunned down by stray bullets in Imo State
Tolulope Alausa, a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) who had 4 months left in his NYSC, was reportedly killed by a stray bullet in Akwa Ibom State.
A statement issued on Monday by the police in the state confirmed the Corps member was shot on Sunday in Eket by unknown assailants who were on a motorcycle.
The police spokesperson in the state, Bala Elkana, said the late Corps member was at Akanimo Street with other Corps members whom he went visiting when he was shot.
The police didn’t disclose the victim’s name but said he was serving at a public school at Nung Obong in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of the state.
“The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi, has deployed a special force from the State Criminal Investigation Department to Eket to investigate the killing.
“The police chief, who is said to have visited the crime scene, assured that those behind the killing would be apprehended and brought to justice,” the PPRO said.
Mfoniso Umoh:
Mfoniso Umoh, a first class graduate of Marine Engineering and an NYSC member serving in Port harcourt, Rivers State, was also killed by a stray bullet from unknown gunmen who attacked and killed many, including policemen, along Peter Odili Road, on Monday, 8th of January, 2018.
Late Umoh, graduated from the Arab Academy of Maritime Transport, in March, 2017. According to his friends who are unhappy with the silence of NYSC and the Rivers State state government on the incident, Umoh was a hound man with a very bright future.
Umoh was buried on Saturday 13th January, 2018 at no. 110 Abiakpo Road, Itak Ikot Udo, Ikot Ekpene.
