How Edrington brought West Africa’s top 1% together for historic tree planting in Ghana

The Macallan, the world’s leading single malt whisky brand, continues to pioneer innovative initiatives by actively involving its customers in global sustainability initiatives.

In a groundbreaking move, The Macallan organised a tree planting exercise at Safari Valley Resort during an exclusive two-day event in Ghana, showcasing the brand’s strong dedication to environmental stewardship. 

With the support of the resort’s management, about 100 trees were planted by the guests who also named the trees they planted, adding a personal touch to the initiative and further deepening their connection to the cause. This is the first time a brand will bring together West Africa’s top 1% for such a feat in the region.

The event had the most influential and successful individuals from Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Mali in attendance. Guests, including Ghana’s influential business leaders, executives, and notable personalities, enthusiastically participated in the tree-planting exercise alongside Edrington’s Regional Team. This unique collaboration exemplified the brand’s shared commitment to sustainability and underscored the influential role of collective action in addressing pressing environmental challenges.
